This week’s Free Printable is inspired by the summer heat and my mini social media series on Healthy Family Hydration! If you missed it, you can still check it out on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and this blog post. These fun activity sheets will help you and your child:
Identify how much total daily water and beverages you or your child needs.
Identify 5 sources of healthy hydration.
Get and stay hydrated with a fun challenge!
The Healthy Family Hydration Activity Sheets also provides options for healthy sources of hydration so that your family can know what drinks/foods to hydrate with. I purposefully did not include sources to limit in these activity sheets, like beverages high in caffeine and sugar, to align with my practice philosophy that avoids/limits using the terms "good" and "bad" foods. There is no morality in food, ie, food does not make us good or bad people. By emphasizing what healthy and appropriate sources of hydration are, our children will learn in a positive way what they need to keep their bodies cool and hydrated during the summer heat. Kids who understand this are better equipped to regulate their food intake and develop a healthier relationship with food and their bodies.
